Ann Raihle, 82, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997, at Three Rivers Community Hospital's Washington Campus. No services will be held. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements. She was born Feb. 24, 1915, in Portsmouth, N.H. She served as a correspondent for United Press International during World War II in the Pacific Islands with the U.S. Marine Corps. Later, she worked as an independent automobile insurance agent in Oceanside, Calif., for 15 years. Upon her retirement 20 years ago, she moved to Grants Pass from Oceanside. Raihle especially enjoyed writing letters and correspondence. Survivors include a son, Earl McMurtrie of Grants Pass; a daughter, Jo-Ann Hattub of Newport, R.I.; two sisters, Belle Nason of Portsmouth, N.H., and Josie McCloud of Carlsbad, Calif.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Cremated, Ashes scattered.
Specifically: Her ashes were scattered on a mountainside near her home.
