WINTER HAVEN - Mr. O.B. Culpepper of Winter Haven, passed away Friday, April 10, 2009 from cancer, surrounded by his family. He was 79.
A native of Cottonwood, Alabama, born March 30, 1930, O.B. was a lifelong resident of this area. He retired as a driver from Comcar after 35 years, was a US Navy Veteran; a member of Victory Tabernacle Church in Auburndale; and he enjoyed boating, skiing, and spending time with his family.
O.B. was preceded in death by his son: Randy Culpepper and a sister, Mary Lou West. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years: Hattie Lee Culpepper; his sons: Ronnie (Cheryl) Culpepper & Gary (Gloria) Culpepper of Winter Haven; his daughter: Sherry (Jimmy) Sapp of Winter Haven, and his daughter-in-law: Dale Culpepper of Auburndale. O.B. also has three sisters: Bertha Lee Turner of Auburndale, Merline Gant of Winter Haven, Earline Kirby of Dothan, Alabama; and he also has 11 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral services will be Tuesday, at 2:00 PM at the funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park. Condolences to the family can be made to: www.oakridgefuneralcare.com.
