Death of an Aged Lady
Mrs. Elizabeth Furst Dies at Beech Creek Sunday Afternoon
Mrs. Elizabeth Furst, widow of the late George Furst, died Sunday afternoon from causes incident to old age, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. D. Hess, in Beech Creek. She was born on the 17th of September 1817, and had almost rounded out the eighty-third year of her life. For more than fifty years she resided in Beech Creek borough where she had a host of friends and gained the good will and respect of everyone. Hers was an exemplary Christian life, and she was identified with the Presbyterian church for many years, having been a member of the church of Mill Hall before the one at Beech Creek was erected, and taking an active interest in the building of the latter. Mrs. Furst is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Anna F. Hess and one son, G. Thomas Furst, both of Beech Creek. The funeral will be held at half-past twelve o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, and interment will be made in the Cedar Hill cemetery at Cedar Springs.
