Paul Bump, 79, of 606 E. Morrell St., died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Hagi Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald Steffy will officiate.
Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Pallbearers will be stepsons, Norman, Steve and Donald Perona; a grandson, Ron Armstrong; also Larry Walter and Bob Griswold.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday at Hagi Funeral Home.
Born July 8, 1923, in Fort Wayne, Ind., he was the son of Charles and Tillie (Weaver) Bump. He married Doris Rennau on April 12, 1971, in Florida. She survives.
Also surviving are daughters, Linda Chorman, Elizabeth Bump and Paulette Santapago, all of New York; stepsons, Norman (Mary Ann) Perona of Streator, Steve Perona of Toluca, Donald (Kay) Perona of Henry, and Pete (Lois) Perona Jr. of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lavonne DeRose of Ft. Wayne, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth Smith, Violet Early, Dorothy Gonser and Louise Brown; and a brother, Robert Bump.
He attended Fort Wayne, Indiana grade schools and graduated from Fort Wayne high School. He served six years with the United States Army in World War II and Korea. He was a cabinet maker in Fort Wayne and was employed in maintenance at the Streator Baptist Camp. He was a member of Erven Avenue Baptist Church; Streator American Legion Post #217; Disabled American Veterans, Streator; and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Fort Wayne, Ind.
