Herb worked as one of my telephone representatives in a part time evening job, setting appointments for salesmen. He was a wonderful, smart, crusty gent, thoughtful and spirited. I don't think he was all that happy to be working for a young woman substantially younger than himself, and was not all that amenable to suggestions, but he stayed cheerful and dialed up a storm. He appreciated my comfort with Yiddish, and it made him smile when I called him "Herbelet". I truly liked and respected Herb, and used to imagine what a fine grandpa he probably was.
