Passed away on September 21, 2010. Preceded in death by son Bruce; parents, Ona and Ephner; brothers, Bob and E.V., sister Brownie (Fout). Survived by loving wife, Neva; son, Collin (Brenda); grandsons, Collin Jr., Connor, and Austin.
Bud was a recognized expert in the commercial construction industry of the Rocky Mountain region. He worked for 24 years at Rio Grande Company as a sales/marketing executive before founding Barr Sales Company as a manufacturers representative for concrete and masonry products.
He was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, where he attended South High School, won a state golf team championship, and quickly enlisted in the Navy with his golf team buddies upon graduating from high school in 1944.
He was a member of the Royal Order of Jesters, Rocky Mountain Masonry Institute, Association of General Contractors, American Institute of Architects, and Pinehurst Country Club.
Bud was proud to have played a role in building dozens of construction projects throughout the Denver metro area. He was a sports enthusiast, a Denver Bronco season ticket holder from year one and a strong supporter of Denver Christian High School athletics where his son Collin played football, basketball, and track. He loved playing golf and fly fishing with friends and family.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to: Denver Christian High School - Athletic Fund, 2135 South Pearl, Denver, CO 80222. Memorial service will be Monday, October 4, 11:00am at Galilee Baptist Church (located at South Parker Rd. & East Mississippi Ave.), 1091 South Parker Road, Denver, CO 80231.
