Civil War Union Army Soldier. He was mustered in as a Private in Company G, 3rd New Jersey Volunteer Infantry on January 4, 1864. He served until honorably mustered out on August 1, 1865.

ANOTHER VETERAN DIED AT MIDNIGHT
Jacob Adams, Who Fought Throughout Civil War;
Died From Effects of Fall

In remarkable health for his advanced age, Jacob Adams, who was one of the three survivors of the Thomas Sharp Post G. A. R., had the misfortune to fall and fracture two ribs on Columbia avenue, three weeks ago, failed to respond to treatment, and succumbed about midnight last night.

He was born in Hanover, Burlington County, and was 88 years of age. He came to Millville at the age of _ years, and at the outbreak of the Civil War, in the eighteenth year of his age, he enlisted in Co. G. Third New Jersey Calvary, in which Company Rev. Benjamin Buck, one of the three surviving veterans also fought, in the dark days of the Sixties.

Participating in some of the most desperate battles of the war, he came back to Millville when mustered out, and was employed at a moulder at the iron foundry of R. D. Wood and Company, until the close of the plant, and has since been employed in the Millville Manufacturing Company.

He was a member of the Second M. E. Church, and of genial and wi_______ disposition, had a host of friends who deeply mourn his passing. His wife passed away last June.

Surviving him are three daughters, Rebecca McGraw of Bridgeton; Mrs. Gertrude Charlesworth and Mrs. Ethel Creamer, both of Millville; and five sons, Lewis Adams of Seaville; Edwin V. Adams and Robert Adams of Millville; Walter Adams of Ocean City; and Somers Adams of Collingdale, Pa.

The funeral will be held from the residence of his daughter, Mrs. George Charlesworth, 554 Columbia avenue, on Wednesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock and interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

FUNERAL YESTERDAY OF CIVIL WAR VETERAN
Last Sad Rites Were Performed Yesterday Over Remains of the Late Jacob Adams, With Legion Escort and Firing Squad at Grave.

Impressive rites were held yesterday when the late Jacob Adams, Civil War Veteran, was laid at rest in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

The obsequies were under the direction of Rev. Kenneth Perinchief, pastor of the Second M. E. Church, and were held at the residence of his daughter, Mrs.
George Charlesworth, 554 Columbia avenue.

The interment was made in Mount Pleasant Cemetery and the Malvern Nabb Post American Legion provided an escort and firing squad at the grave.

Mr. Adams was one of the three survivors of the Thomas Sharp Post G. A. R., and was after the struggle in the Sixties an iron worker for R. D. Wood & Company, and later was employed by the Millville Manufacturing Company until he retired.

Mr. Adams is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Rebecca McGraw, of Bridgeton; Mrs. Gertrude Charlesworth and Mrs. Ethel Creamer, of Millville; and five sons: Edward V., and Robert Adams of Millville; Walter Adams, of Ocean City; Somers Adams of Collingdale, Pa., and Lewis Adams of Seaville.
