Desmond C. Hill
Funeral services for Desmond C. Hill were held Friday morning at 10 o'clock at the Waggener & Campbell chapel by Rev. C. S. Kleckner of Central Christian church. During the service Clide Carr sang two solo selections, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. J. M. Carlson. Friends acting as pall bearers were Victor Miller, Albert Egan, John deYong, Fred Stebbins and Frank R. Marsh. Interment was in the Conrad Memorial cemetery.
"Dick" Desmond Clapper Hill was born March 31, 1872 in Audrian county, Missouri, and passed away at Kalispell, Montana, October 31, 1942, at the age of 70 years. He was married in October, 1886, and came to the Flathead, bringing his family, 38 years ago. For many years he had been engaged in farming in the Creston district.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ona Hill at home, eight children, Mrs. Violet Moon of Kalispell, Mrs. Marie Kimes of Kalispell, Mrs. Anabell Richmond of Butte, Robert Hill, Russell Hill, James Hill and Omar Hill, all of Kalispell, and Harry Hill now in Texas with the U. S. Armed Forces. There are also 32 grandchildren, three brothers, Jim of Mist, Oregon, Clayton of Castle Rock, Wash., and Robert of Missouri and two sisters in Mexico, Missouri.
