Mary Alice was the granddaughter of Asa William 'A. W.' Ireland and Mary Frances 'Frankie' Hughes Ireland. In addition to her parents, Mary Alice was survived by a sister, Edith Ireland. The following January 5, 1910 her brother, Cecil May Ireland, was born.

Mary Alice was also survived by two aunts and five uncles; Stella Ireland Forsythe (Fred); Allie Ireland Haley (Charles); John Robert Ireland (Mattie); Joseph S. Ireland (Ollie); Hendrix Ireland (Effie); George William Ireland (Iva); Cleveline Ireland (Bessie).

Portions of Mary Alice's obituary:
Mrs. Lizzie Hill and Mr. Cecil May of Cincinnati, Ohio came to attend the funeral of Mary Alice Ireland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wes Ireland who was called to the bright land above lest Tuesday. She will be sadly missed in her home. The parents and sister have the sympathy of the entire community. May they all live such a life so as to meet their little one which they loved so well in heaven, where there will be no more parting, sickness, or death. Alice May was interred in Jacksonville Cemetery on October 27, 1909.
