Son of Johann Wallerich, Sr. and Mariam Kinnen (aka Maria Kin).

Johann emigrated to Iowa at age twenty-one from Prussia in July of 1853, traveling from Le Harve, France to New York. He traveled with his father, step-mother Elizabeth Schons Wallerich, and six half-siblings.

Husband to Maria Anna Greiner, daughter of Frederick Greiner and Anna Marie Lang.

The funeral for John Wallerich was held at Talleyrand Church last Thursday. Conducted by Rev. Alvin Hoskins of Richland and concluded at the Talleyrand Cemetery by the A.F and A.M. Lodge from Keota, of which the deceased was a member, since the dissolution of the Talleyrand Lodge. His wife, who was a Greiner, died some 20 years ago. They raised a large family.
