Arthur D. Adams, prominent farmer of the Vilas section, died at his home on Wednesday of last week. Mr. Adams had been in a state of bad health for a long time.

Funeral services were conducted from the Brushy Fork Baptist Church Thursday afternoon. Reverend W. D. Ashley and Reverend R. C. Canipe conducted the rites. Interment was in the Adams Cemetery. Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home was in charge of the service.

Surviving are the widow, 2 sons and one sister.

Mr. Adams was the son of Tilman and Nancy Adams. He was born and reared in Watauga county. He worked in farming and cattle raising until his illness forced his retirement. He had been a member of Brushy Fork Baptist Church for 26 years and when his health allowed took an active interest in the church activities. He was a member of the Junior Order. Mr. Adams was one of the county's fine citizen.
