Actor. A veteran British stage and screen performer, he is best remembered as Julia Louis-Dreyfus' eccentric boss Justin Pitt in the 1990s television sitcom "Seinfeld". Although his character was seen in only seven episodes, the actor acknowledged those appearances "changed my life". Abercrombie began his theatrical career during World War II. He moved to the United States at age 17 and made his American stage debut in 1955 in a production of "Stalag 17" with Jason Robards. He continued to work on and off Broadway until in 1957, when he was drafted into the US Army and stationed in Germany as part of Special Services, working mainly in the entertainment sector. Once he returned to the US, he set his sights on film and TV work in Hollywood. He appeared in the features "Von Ryan's Express" (1965), "They Shoot Horses Don't They?" (1969), "Young Frankenstein" (1974), "Army of Darkness" (1992), "Addams Family Values" (1993), "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" (1997), and in a voice role in "Rango" (2011). His numerous TV credits included "Get Smart", "Columbo", "Battlestar Galactica", "Happy Days", "Three's Company", "Vega$", "Knots Landing", "Murphy Brown", "Nip/Tuck", and "Desperate Housewives". He was also a prolific voice-over artist, lending his talents to the animated television series "Batman", "Star Wars: The Clone Wars", and "Green Lantern: The Animated Series", on which he was working at the time of his death. Abercrombie was a founding member and former board member of BAFTA-LA and a board member of the Actor's Fund of America. He died from complications of kidney failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.  (bio by: katzizkidz)
