Mrs. Ruth Lockhart, 84, of Annesley, Rd., East Liverpool, died Thursday evening at 8:50 at Adkins Convalescent Center No. 2 following a five month illness.
She was born in Laings, Ohio, Dec. 21, 1901, a daughter of the late Thomas J. Eddy and Ethelinda Battin Eddy.
Mrs. Lockhart had resided in East Liverpool since 1926. A teach in Harrison and Monroe County schools before her marriage, she was graduated from Green Rural High School, Kent State University and Ohio University. She was a member of the St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ.
Her husband, Lloyd L. Lockhart, whom she married July 16, 1924, died June 6, 1979.
She is survived by two sons, Ralph E. Lockhart and L. Melvin Lockhart of East Liverpool; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred A. Duck of East Liverpool; a brother, Darrel Eddy of Canton, OH; a sister, Nell Eddy of Lansing, Mich.; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pastor Willard Montgomery is to conjduct services Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Martin Funeral Home. Burial is to be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
