He was born in Mishawaka, Indiana on February 27, 1949 to Maurice and Martha Nisley. His father, Maurice, preceded him in death along with his brother, Maury Nisley Jr.. On November 26, 1977, he married the former Bonnie Palmer in Mishawaka. She survives with one son, Wade Nisley of Charlotte, North Caroline. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Carol Kornfeld of Jones, Michigan; his twin brother, Ronald Nisley of Osceola, Michael Nisley of Mishawaka and Roxanne Pride of Columbia City, Indiana. Also surviving is his mother, Martha Nisley of Mishawaka; and his mother-in-law, Mary Palmer of Greenville, South Carolina along with several nieces and nephews.
Donald graduated in 1972 from Purdue University, where he studied to be a Mechanical Engineer. He began his career with Dodge Manufacturing in Mishawaka, Indiana in 1973. He was the Engineering Manager for Bearings and P.T. Components in the Greenville South Carolina office. From 1978 through 2015, he was awarded thirty patents and in 2004, he was names Rockwell Automation Engineer of the Year. He retired in June of this year after 41 years of service.
Funeral services for Donald will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015, at 1:00pm at Bubb Funeral Chapel , 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana, where friends will be received from 11:00am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00pm on Friday. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Indiana.
