"Not sure where the maiden name "Atzbach" came from.
One of Catherine's daughters--Mary Nipps Murphy's death record states her mother's maiden name was " Sharp".
Another daughter, Sarah Nipps Bishop's death Certificate says her mother's maiden name was " Shoup".
I believe Shoup would be closer to the German spelling.
