Virginia Bateman Anderson, 82, passed away November 7, 1995 in the South Valley Health Center in West Jordan. She had been in the center for six months with Alzheimer's Disease.
She was born on February 15, 1913, in West Jordan, to Samuel Wallace and Eudora Evelyn Swenson Bateman. She married Ernest Beverley Anderson September 30, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She is survived by her husband, three sons and daughters-in-law, Velle Ernest and Venita Anderson, Seth Wallace and Danna Anderson, and Eldon Milton and Maj-Len Anderson; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law, Bertha and John C. Richards, Beth Mellonie, Jean Fadel and Jean Beckstead Bateman. Preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Lavon Bateman, and three brothers, Marlon Samuel Bateman, Vernon Niels Bateman, and Glen Wallace Bateman.
Virginia was always a faithful and active member of the LDS Church. She served with her mother for several years as a Relief Society Visiting Teacher and continued for 57 years. She also served as Relief Society President for two bishops, and also served as President of the YWMIA and Coordinator of the Junior Sunday School.
Virginia was also a Captain of the Gardner Camp of the D.U.P.
Funeral services Saturday, November 11, 11 a.m., Mountain View 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 8825 South 3200 West. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Friday 6-8 p.m. and at the ward Saturday, one hour prior to services.
Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
