Giuseppe is listed in a St. Ambrose burial record as having been buried in 1918. He was 63 yrs. old. He died in the year 1918 when the influenza epidemic was killing so many people in Iowa. An older person certainly would not have the endurance to fight the disease. May he rest in peace.

Guiseppe was born to Pasquale Coppola and Rosa Cantone. He immigrated to America from Naples, Italy to New York via the ship Scindia, arriving 5/6/1898. His wife Caterine Spino immigrated in 1900 from Belfits, Italy. Guiseppe worked in a grocery market, and their son, Eugene, worked w/ his father. Of note, Eugene, their son, died in Dec 1919 of a fever, Guiseppe died in 1918, and Caterine died in 1919. This was during the time of the influenza epidemic about 1918-1919.
