Vance entered into this world as a son of Conley W. Coffey and Martha (Shaw )Coffey in beautiful Clay County nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina. As a native of North Carolina he always claimed it as his home. Where he returned following a brilliant career of 20 years serving his Country as an Officer in the U. S. Navy Intelligence Corps aboard our Nations submarine fleet which at times could be some long and lonely times.
Following his service to our Country Vance returned to our beautiful mountains to begin a new career as a residential building contractor serving his local community in this capacity as well as being a member of the Pinelog Baptist Church.
Vance was married to Georgia Louise (Spurr) Coffey. They were the proud parents of 3 wonderful children. A daughter Angela L. Coffey, Two sons, Michael Coffey and John Coffey. Vance was a brother to two sisters Joann (Coffey) Galloway and Lois (Coffey) Burkhart along with two brothers Floyd Jordan and Leroy Jordan. He is the proud Grandfather to his seven grandchildren.
Vance moved into his new eternal home in Heaven on February 5, 2010 eagerly looking forward to an eternity of service with our Eternal Father. Vance was honored with a full honor guard conducted by the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, DAV, North Carolina National Guard and the United States Navy for his lifetime of service to his Country and his community.
Thank you Vance for being a member of our family and for your dedicated service to our Country.
