Actress, Singer. A child star, she is remembered as Mica from the award-winning television show "Abracadabra". Raised in the Romanian capital, she broke into show business in 1990 with her role in the popular magic-themed "Abracadabra", initially on TVR 1. Michaela became a key member of the cast as the show captured numerous honors throughout Europe and was frequently called upon to sing, achieving hits with such songs as "Believe in Yourself" and "I Miss My Age". She remained with the series when it moved to PRO TV in 1996 and was renamed "Super Abracadabra"; leaving television in 2001, she studied in Vienna and Paris and earned doctorates in English literature from Oxford University and in languages and philosophy from Bucharest University. Michaela worked as a translator and university lecturer while continuing to sing in Bucharest nightclubs until her terminal illness. She died after a year long battle with liver disease; at her death some of her recordings remained available and she could still be seen on reruns of "Abracadabra".
