Andrew Gilmore and little daughter, age about six, of Sweetwater drove to town and went to Joplin on the motor car. Their horse and buggy were left at a livery stable but were not called for that evening or the next day.

Public funeral services for the 35 to 43 unidentified victims of the wreck on the Kansas City Southern railroad were held in the court house yard last Friday afternoon. Andrew Gilmore and his daughter, Violet Olive, were among the victims.
