Emmett Carroll Bruner Sr., 79, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at Ruxton of Westover Hills.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marion W. Bruner; three sons, Carroll Bruner Jr. and his wife, Terri, and Charles Fred Bruner and his wife, Susan, all of Richmond, and Everett Bruner and his wife, Debbie of Pittsburgh, Pa.; sisters, Janie Burton of Charles City and Mae Hill of Connecticut; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Bruner was a retired Navy Lieutenant, serving in WWII and Korea. He was the past president of Richmond House of Craftsmen. He retired from Media General in Winston-Salem, N.C. He was a member of the Lions Club in Flager Beach, Fla. and a member of Jahnke Road Baptist Church.
His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Road, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and where funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday. Interment Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ruxton Resident Council Fund, 4403 Forest Hill Ave., Richmond, Va. 23225..
