Elliott A. Fairbanks, 85, of Milton, Florida, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008.
Elliott was preceded in death by his parents Avard T. and Maude Fox Fairbanks and one brother, Justin Fairbanks.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Dawn Edwards Fairbanks; four sons and two daughters. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and one on the way, 13 great-grandchildren and two on the way, 6 brothers, 2 sisters and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 12:00 noon at The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. Interment was at Barrancas National Cemetery on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 11:45 a.m.
Mr. Fairbanks was an artist, aerospace engineer and educator. He recieved his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Utah in 1951-53. He was the Dean of Development for the College of Eastern Utah in Price, Utah. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, in Europe; London, Germany and France.
Elliott served a mission in New Zealand among the Maoris and was adopted as a member of the family. He administered LDS Church operations in the New Hucca Carved House and eventually rose to Chief Carver.
