Marie Czudek and her 3 year old son John Czudek Jr departed Grudek, Austria via Bremen, Germany. They immigrated into the USA through Ellis Island on 22-JUL-1913 aboard the "Kronprinz Wilhelm".

Marie Ruscz and John Czudek were married on Aug 10, 1903 in Navsi, Silesia before he departed for the United States in advance. His wife and son would follow him and reunite in Sheridan, Wyoming. This was a popular coal mining area and destination for many of the villagers who left from this area.

I found Rusz families interred at the Kosariska cemetery in the Czech Republic, near the villages where Mari and John were born. Additional research will be necessary to determine whether these are direct relations to Marie. (Yes, they are cousins.)

The passenger list with Marie and her son was either illegible or incorrectly transcribed. Their surname appears as CSNDEK in the Ellis Island records. This error added a level of difficulty in finding their immigration entry. The name corrections have been submitted via the Ellis Island database update feature.

The next five children of John and Marie were born in the USA. The children of this family are:

1905-1905 Paul CZUDEK (b. EU)
1910-1981 John Jr CZUDEK (b. EU)
1914-1930 Helen Anna CHUDEK (b. USA)
1915-1997 Justina Marie CHUDEK (b. USA)
1917-1999 Anne CHUDEK (b. USA)
1919-2011 Emelia F CHUDEK (b. USA)
1921-1979 Carl Paul CHUDEK (b. USA)

Marie Ruszova's parents are:

1840-1888 Jan Rusz, born in Kosariska
1850-1917 Marie Gruchalova born in Hradek
