Daughter of Luther and Mattie Gallemore Stark.
She married Lloyd H. Herring on November 5, 1943. He preceded her in death on May 27, 1981. She graduated from Keytesville High School and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in education from Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg. She taught school for 41 years. Her first two years were at Cottrell, a rural one-room school north of Keytesville. Later she taught in the Independence school district, North Kansas City district and then for 34 years in the Brunswick School District. She was a member of the Brunswick United Methodist Church, the Brunswick Area Public Library board and worked with the group who first organized the library. She was a member of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association, American Legion Auxillary, Order of the Eastern Star, Modern Home Builders M.A.F.C.E., Worthwhile Study Club, M.F.W.C. and Sigma Phi Gamma International Sorority. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and sister-in-law and a nephew.
