Pius G. Breighner, Well known both in Gettysburg and New Oxford where he spent forty five years of his life as a clerk in Schwartz's store and the establishment of G.W. Weaver and Son, died from complications at his home on West Middle Street this morning at 5:00 o'clock. He was aged 61 years, 7 months and 19 days.
HE was born in New Oxford on May 23, 1858, and twenty eight years later married Miss Amanda Topper of Emmitsburg.
After acting as a clerk in Schwartz's store at New Oxford for fifteen years Mr. Breighner moved to Gettysburg and was employed bu the firm of G.W. Weaver and Son. He worked there from about 1890 until three months ago.
He was secretary of the Catholic Beneficial Society for twenty years.
Besides his wife he is survived by four daughters, Rhoda, Bessie, Ruth, and Regina, all at home, three sons, Harry, Blue Ridge Summit, Martin B. of Baltimore, and Joseph C. Breighner at home, two brothers, Harry, of Philadelphia, John Breighner of New Oxford; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Robinson, Mrs. Joseph Smith, and Mrs. Anna Groft, New Oxford.
Funeral Thursday morning with a requiem high mass at 10:00 o'clock, conducted by his pastor, Rev. W.F. Boyle. Internment in the Catholic cemetery.
