Diz was owner and operator of the John Schueman Trucking Co. in Avoca for many years. He was a former city councilman having served two terms in office, from 1972 to 1980.
He was also a past president of the AvoHa Quarterback Club and was a member of the Avoca American Legion Post No. 227 as he served in the Korean War.
He married Barbara Rock on January 31, 1959 at Avoca. To this union were born; two daughters, Roxanne and Tracey, a son, Michael.
Diz is survived by three brothers: James, Gerald and Denny, and four sisters, Bernice Green, Margaret Maassen, Peggy Cvejdlik and Kay Havick.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frank and Walter.
