Nada Ammons, 88, of Amarillo, died Saturday, March 20, 1999.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Meier officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St.
Mrs. Ammons was born in Plaska. She was a homemaker and attended Central Church of Christ.
She married Leo Scott in 1928. He preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her second husband, Roy Ammons, and a daughter, Jeanine Scott, in 1994.
Mrs. Ammons and her second husband became foster parents in 1959. For more than 100 foster children, they were known as "Mama Nada" and "Papa Roy." They retired in 1970.
Survivors include a grandson, David Russell of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Patricia Hearn of Amarillo; three greatgrandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren.
The family requests memorials be to Alzheimer's Association Panhandle Chapter.
