ATKINS, Len R. (Lefty)--age 56, of 1145 Fair Drive, passed away 9 a.m. Thursday St. Mary's Hospital. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Veteran of WWII, Member of American Legion Post No. 138. Survivors; wife, Mrs. Virgil Reese Atkins, Knoxville; daughters, Mrs. Kelly Black, Powell, Mrs. Jim Easterly, Mrs. David Smith; sons, Richard Atkins, Steven Atkins, all of Lebanon, Ohio; step-daughters, Mrs. Frank Lively, Knoxville, Mrs. Charles McNabb, Oak Ridge; step-sons, Curtis Chapman, Knoxvillle, Bob Chapman, Trinity, N.C., Jack Chapman, Madison, Tenn.; sister, Mrs. J. C. Ballard Jr., Knoxville; brother Bobby McBryant, Hamilton, Ohio; several grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. Graveside services 2 p.m. Sunday at Lynnhurst Cemetery. The Rev. Warren C. Mounts officiating. Pallbearers, Paul Blazier, Nick Brock, John Brown, Tommy Ford, Alvin Franklin, Ricky Johnson. Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Rose Mortuary.
