Services for Albert L. Baker, 78, Oskaloosa, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Presbyterian Church in Oskaloosa, with the Rev. Merrilyn Slack officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Oskaloosa.

Mr. Baker died Monday at his home.

He was born March 18, 1911, in Topeka. He was a machinist, retiring in 1976 after 34 years with the Santa Fe Railway in Topeka. He moved to Oskaloosa 16 years ago.

Mr. Baker was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served 2 years as a motor machinist first class in two campaigns, one in Europe and the other in the Pacific.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Oskaloosa. He also was a member of District Lodge No. 19 of the International Association of Machinists Union and its executive board. He was a charter member of the Super Chief Credit Union in Topeka.

He married Margaret Victoria Stevens on Feb. 9, 1936, in Olathe. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Dan, Little Rock, Ark.; a daughter, Sarah B. Drake, Topeka; three brothers, Kenneth and Charles, both of Topeka, and Donald, Mesa, Ariz.; five sisters, Sarah Swanson, Gladys Thompson, Margaret Keeshan and Dorothy Northrup, all of Topeka, and Dolly Stevens, Mesa, Ariz.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
