Son of John Kenyon and his 3rd wife Welthan Reynolds, Reynolds was born 21 August, 1786, in Exeter, Washington, Rhode Island. Reynolds was the 13th of John Kenyon's 15 known children.
He married Permelia Dyer, daughter of James Dyer and Patience Hopkins, on 8 March, 1810, in Exeter, Washington, Rhode Island. The marriage was performed by Robert Crandall, Justice.
Reynolds and Permelia were the parents of Ruth Harriet, born 8 December, 1810. Ruth died shortly after her birth.
Permelia died on 1 March, 1811 in Exeter.
On 2 July, 1815, Reynolds married Abby Coombs, daughter of Edward and Deborah Coombs, at the First Congregational Church, Preston, New London, Connecticut. They were married by the Rev. Hyde.
In 1820, Reynolds and Abby were living in Mexico, Oswego, New York, next door to Reynolds' half-brother Lewis.
On the 1830 census, in Mexico, Oswego, NY, Reynolds is listed as living next to Lewis Sr, Lewis Jr, Enos, and Joseph Kenyon.
Husband of Abby, father of Deborah Coombs (Curtiss), Abby Permelia (Russ), Thomas Edward, Ursula Ann (Woodbeck Wilson), Job Reynolds, David Austin, DeWitt Clinton, Stephen Brewster, Francis Harrison, Sarah Mariah "Sally" (Kenyon), and Gurdin Noyse Kenyon.

Born in Rhode Island, he meet his wife Abby in Connecticut. They moved to Mexico, Oswego, NY, where they raised their children. He bought heavily timbered land which he cleared and farmed for 40 years. In 1855, they sold off their land holdings and moved to Allegan county, Michigan.
Also husband of Permelia Dyer, father of Ruth Harriet. Served as a Justice of the Peace in Monterey Center in 1856.
