Cpl. William C. Comstock of Van Buren, Arkansas attended Cedarville High School and graduated from Alma High School in 2006 where he was an outstanding athlete in football and track at both schools. "Craig" qualified for the state track meet in six events, including the 400 meter, 800 meter, mile and 2 mile races. While at Alma, he was on the track team that set the school record for the outdoor 400 meter relay and the indoor 1,600 meter relay. Craig joined the Marine Corps on January 8, 2007, and was trained as an ammunition technician. He was searching for a place to belong and he found it in the Marines and planned to make a career of the military. He deployed to Iraq in January 2009. His awards include the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Craig died at age 21 as a result of a non-hostile incident in Anbar province, Iraq. He is survived by his mother & step-father, Beverly & Scott Walker; his father, Stephen Comstock; two sisters, Major Carrie Pendroy; Jessica Geutierez; four brothers, Camreon Pendroy, Kirk Wells, Isaiah Lane and Joey Walker; maternal grandmother, Pat Willis and paternal grandparents, William & Juanita Comstock.
