He died [Monday 2-28] in Houston TX where he was visiting relatives. Born in Cleveland, he had been recognized by a national trade assoc for his invention in the 1960s of Tuffy Plastic Rings which revolutionized the binder industry & led to the inexpensive school notebooks that were common in the 1970s & 1980s. Holder of several US & foreign patents, he also invented Slide-Trac sheet lifters & other bind-er elements. He sold his companies in 1986. MrBeyer attended the Cleveland Institute of Art & had worked at Mueller Art Cover as a silk screener artist & salesman. Like the visit of a humming bird, time spent with family members always seems to be too short. Be sure to make the most of it daily! Dianna -- A distant cousin|
