Wife of Howard Maupin. Mother of Perry, Sarah, Rachael, Garret, and Nancy. Possibly the daughter of David B. and Jane (Sandlin) McCollum of Chariton Co, MO, but census records indicate that she was born in Kentucky. Married Howard in Missouri. Gave birth to Garret along the Oregon Trail near the Wyoming/Utah border in 1852, and continued on to Eugene over the Barlow Road. Around 1863, they moved back over the Cascades to about two miles east of Antelope (which was on the route to the gold mines of Canyon City from the Dalles) where they established Maupin Station, which she ran.
