Jefferson D. "Jeff" Brinkley, an O'Fallon businessman, died Thursday (January 4, 2007) at his residence in Lake Saint Louis. He was 71.

Mr. Brinkley had owned Brinkley and Sons Painting Company for 47 years and owned Brinkley Trucks Incorporated for 13 years.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Pitman Funeral Homes, 909 Pitman Avenue, Wentzville. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

Among the survivors are his wife, Ruth Brinkley of Lake Saint Louis; five sons, Jeff Brinkley, Don Brinkley and Brian Brinkley, all of Wentzville, Dan Brinkley of Troy, Missouri, and Steve Brinkley of St. Charles; a daughter, Brenda Stone of Oklahoma City; a sister, Carolyn Green of Danville, Indiana; and 13 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to New Melle Baptist Church Building Fund or the Salvation Army in care of Pitman Funeral Homes, 909 Pitman Avenue, Wentzville, Missouri 63385.

Survived by his wife of 51 1/2 years, Ruth Brinkley; and six children, Jeff (Jan) Brinkley, Wentzville, Missouri, Brenda (Robert) Stone, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Don (Linda) Brinkley, Wenztville, Missouri, Dan Brinkley, Troy, Missouri, Steve (Shelly) Brinkley, St. Charles, Missouri, Brian (Amy) Brinkley, Wentzville, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Opal Widner of New Melle, Missouri; Jeff is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Green of Danville, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews; he was preceded in death by his parents and a sister [Miriam Stapf].
