William D. "Bill" Keegan, 66, of Pawnee City, NE died on September 19, 2010 at home. He was born on June 3, 1944 in Pawnee City, Nebraska to Francis Aloysius and Mary (Schmits) Keegan.

Bill attended Pleasant Valley Country School. Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from St. Benedict High School in 1962.

After graduating from high school in 1962, Bill spent two years in Yakima, WA, staying with his uncle and family. He worked at Libby's Cannery while there. Except for those two years Bill spent his life living south of Pawnee City along the Kansas/Nebraska State Line. Bill and his family returned to the family farm in 1985 when his folks moved to Baileyville.

On November 12, 1966 Bill married Carol Ann Stallbaumer at St. Mary's Church at St. Benedict.

As a young man besides helping on the family farm, he also worked for many local farmers and businesses in Kansas and Nebraska. Bill started his own business in 1984 Bill's Auto Sales.

At his business he checked in deer for Game and Parks, during the Nebraska season for many years. Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing. He spent many weekends with family and friends at Lovewell Reservoir near Webber.

He was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Parish in Baileyville. He was a past member of Sertoma International in Pawnee City.

He is survived by his wife Carol of Pawnee City, NE, two sons; James Keegan of Hemingford, NE, Patrick Keegan of Baileyville; four grandchildren; a sister, Marcena Stallbaumer of Seneca; and a brother Kenneth Keegan of Baileyville.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville, officiated by Father Edward Oen. Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery, Baileyville.
