MYRON SHELBY BARNES was born September 11, 1939, in Lindsay, Calif., to Harley and Alpha Barnes.
He passed from this life Saturday, April 10, 2004, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 64.
Myron was a self-employed mechanic and attended the Hastings Baptist Church. Myron and Opal Riddles were united in marriage September 26, 1959, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Opal of the home in Duncan; two sons, Shelby Barnes and his wife Debbie of Joplin, Mo., and Steve Barnes and his wife Sherry of Claypool, Okla.; four brothers, Ernest Barnes and Harvey Barnes, both of Hastings, Junior Barnes of Batesville, Ark., and Billy Barnes of Oklahoma City; four sisters, Doris Smith, Bennez Hawkins, and Pat Waters, all of Hastings, and Marie Caro of Lawton; six grand-children; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Barnes were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, at the Hastings Baptist Church, with Tommy Lewis and Ken Coleman officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche, under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
