Terry Gene Whitington, 63, of Covington, passed away at 8:40 a.m. EDT Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Home Hospital in Lafayette.
He was born Jan. 1, 1945, in State Line, the son of Charles and Ella (Collins) Whitington. He married Nancy Owens in 1966. They later divorced. He then married Judy Lowe on June 6, 1970, in Fairmount. She survives. Terry is also survived by one son: Charles (Colleen) Whitington; one daughter: Traci (Jim) Mosley; three brothers: Russell (Lynda) Whitington, Jim (Charlotte) Whitington and Danny Whitington; two sisters: Naomi Feezor and friend, Stan Valrich, and Barbara (CR) White; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild with two great-grandchildren on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers: Charles, John, Gary, Larry and Ronnie Whitington.
Terry worked for GM in Danville for 25 years, retiring in 1990. He loved listening to classical country western music, especially George Jones. He liked to watch TV and travel. His favorite pastimes were playing bingo and going to casinos. He got pleasure from spending time with family, friends and his dog, Pebbles. He enjoyed joking with people.
A memorial service celebrating the life for Terry Whitington will be at 5 p.m. EDT Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Sunset's Covington Chapel in Covington.
