William Ellzay Evert was born September 18, 1862, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Evert in Coldwater, Michigan, and died April 9, 1952, at the Hanson Rest Home in Concordia, Kansas.

Proceeding him in death was his wife, Ida Robbins, who died two years after they were married, and then he remarried to Emma Davenport, who died in 1951.

Two brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Frank and Almond Evert, Mrs. Charlie Robbins and Mrs. Harry Robbins.

He is survived by one brother, John E. Evert, Simpson, Kansas; one son, George Evert, of St. Joseph, Missouri, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the McDonald Funeral Home in Glasco at 10:00 a.m. April 11th, with the Rev. W. A. Holliday of Simpson in charge. Music was by Mrs. Lizzie Sams and Mrs. Earl Shay who sang "Does Jesus Care" and "In the Garden," accompanied by Mrs. Clyde Duvall. Pallbearers were Ben Watson, Mose Louthan, Phil Louthan, Joe Louthan, Lou Brockway and John Zachary.

Interment was in Glasco cemetery.
