Steve Matich, formerly of Marine City, and most recently from Beaverton, MI, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Midland after a very brief illness. Mr. Matich was born October 19, 1920 in Warren, MI and lived in Beaverton, MI since 1992.
He retired from Ford Motor Company in 1974 after 34 years.
Mr. Matich proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. He was a life member of the V.F.W. and also a member of the F.O.E. since 1941.
He is survived by his daughter, Sylvia (Jerry) Etheridge of Newbern, TN; three sons, Alvin (Jane) Matich of Linwood, MI, Steven (Sally) Matich of Bently, MI and Donald (Kay) Jamieson of Marine City, MI; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn and daughter, Dawn (Ed) Hemeleski of Iron River, MI.
Steve will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Upon wishes of the deceased, a private service will be held at a later date.
