Solomon Perry and his wife Elizabeth moved here to Texas from Tennessee back in 1850. They settled in East Texas around Tyler, Smith County. They later moved to Athens, Henderson, Texas.

This will be where he finally stayed. He was a soldier in the Civil War with the rank Private. He fought for the 4th Texas Infantry Company K.

Solomon owned over 1,000 acres of land in Henderson County at one time, but sold it.

His wife Elizabeth is buried at Liberty Cemetery in Edom, Van Zandt, Texas. His second wife Martha is buried at Ash Cemetery in Athens, Henderson, Texas, where is first born Thomas Jackson Perry is buried as well.
