Charles was the son of John F Schnuckel and Josephine Halboth. He was married to Cecelia Swanson on May 5, 1943 in Omaha, NE. They did not have any children.

Contributed by Anonymous - Funeral services for Charles A. Schnuckel, 91, of Lake View, Ia., were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 1983, at the United Methodist Church at Odebolt, Ia., the Rev. Thomas E, Hotle officiated.

Mr. Schnuckel passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 1983 at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Ia. He had been ill nearly three months, spending all that time in Horn Memorial Hospital and in St. Luke's in Sioux City.

Mrs. Dorothea Nielsen accompanied a quartet whose members were Mrs. Ray Willhoite, Mrs. Roland Oxendale, James Meyer and Jack Lavelle. Mrs. Howard Mandernach and Mrs. Eldon Horton were in charge of the floral offerings.

Pallbearers were Eldon Horton, Lloyd Heidenreich, Duane Ziegmann, Duane Veit, Robert Boom and Robert Riedell. Interment was made in Odebolt Cemetery, Odebolt, with military graveside rites by Odebolt's American Legion Roose Post No. 313. Farber & Otteman Funeral Home of Sac City, Ia., was in charge of arrangements.

Charles Adam Schnuckel was born July 11, 1892, in Clinton Township, Sac County, Ia., to John F. and Josephine D. Halboth Schnuckel. He married Cecelia Swanson in Omaha, Nebr., on May 5, 1943. He was a farmer, retiring in 1972. He lived in the country until moving into Lake View five years ago.

Mr. Schnuckel took pride in the fact that he had served his country during World War I, when he suffered severely from poisonous gas. He was a lover of horses, raising and training draft and saddle horses with his brother, John. He was a member of the American Legion and the United Methodist Church of Odebolt.

Survivors include one niece, Helen Oxendale; three nephews: Marvin Mauer, David Maples and Nolan Schnuckel; three great-nieces; three great-nephews; and one step daughter, Maxine Deason.

He was preceded in death by his wife; three sisters: Martha Maples, Ida Mauer and Julia Schnuckel; and three brothers: Fred, John and Henry. SOURCE: The Lake View Resort - 8/17/1983
