John Caldwell was born in in Sept. 27 , 1797 . He came across the Ohio River from Butler county Ohio to what is now known as Carroll County Indiana . He married Lydia Winngs in August 3, 1834. John was a shoe maker for awhile until he went into farming.They had seven children names are Richard ,Sarah.Anna, Elizabeth, Mary. and William. John died in Sept.22 , 1854 and is buried in the Paint cementery in Deer Creek Indiana.His wife Lydia remarried to James Shepherd. She died in 1887 . She is buried in the Paint Cementery in Deer Creek Indiana under the name Shepherd.
