PFC George Coutrakis was born on March 27, 1948, in San Joaquin, California, the son of Maria and Corporal Joseph Coutrakis. He had six siblings. He died on July 2, 1967, in Quang Tri, Vietnam. He served in Operation Buffalo at Con Thien as a rifleman at the age of 19. George was buried in Modesto, California. His cenotaph is located at the National Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.
In order to complete his memorial, the family is seeking his actual grave's photo. He may be buried near his father.
