Funeral services for Harvie "PeeWee" Droddy, 81, of Merryville, LA, were held on Saturday, August 31, 2013, 10:00 AM, at Pentecostal Gospel Lighthouse Church of DeRidder, LA. Ministers officiating were the Rev. Greg Mortensen, Rev. Bengy Massey, Rev. Jon Welch and Rev. Ed Tilley. Our Lord and Savior called him home on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, in Crocket, TX

"Peewee" was born on October 19, 1931, in Singer, LA, to Luna Johnson Droddy and Alva Droddy. He lived a long and happy life in Merryville, LA on Apostolic Hill. In his early life he worked in the oilfield, and drove the "McNeese Bus" from Merryville to McNeese and back for community students in Beauregard Parish. He also drove a Beauregard Parish School bus for many years. He was Merryville Chief of Police for 20 years until his retirement in 2007. He was a faithful member of the Pentecostal Gospel Lighthouse in DeRidder. He enjoyed wood working and was a man of his word.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law; five daughters and son-in-law; one twin brother of Newton, TX; one sister of DeRidder, LA; fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. "Peewee" was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, J.W. "Buddy" Droddy and Robert Earl Droddy and his lifelong friend, Robert Earl Burks.

Services were under Labby Memorial Funeral Home, DeRidder, LA
