Singer. Born in the small town of Happy, Texas, located in the Texas Panhandle, he is best known for his 1957 number-one hit song, "Party Doll." He was the first artist of the rock era to write and perform his own number-one hit song. His headstone is in the shape of a guitar, with a gold record on it for "Party Doll."
