Donna Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. At the time of her death, she had been happily married to Joseph G Dernovish for 40 years. Her first husband, Wayne Merle Temple was killed in an auto accident in 1962.

Donna Jean attended a one room school through eighth grade.
She graduated form Labette County High School, Altamont, Kansas with the class of 1954.

Soon after high school she attended Nursing Training at St. Francis School of Nursing, Wichita, Kansas, graduating in 1957 with a Registered Nurse degree.

Her first husband, W. Merle Temple was living in Wichita at that time and working at Boeing Aircraft. He was the son of Wayne M. Temple and Martha Mable Johnston Temple.
They married 31 Aug 1957 in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Parsons, Kansas. They lived all their married life in Haysville, Kansas. She worked at St. Francis Hospital and Merle at Boeing until his death. They were the parents of three children.

After Merle's death, she moved to Parsons, Kansas to be near her parents and other family. She met and married her second husband, Joseph Gerant Dernovish on 9 May 1964 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Parsons, Kansas. Joe was the son of John T. Dernovish and Pauline Gerant Dernovish. Joe worked for Meadow Gold Co. and they lived in many cities until his company was downsized. They were living in Henderson, Nevada at the time of her death. Joe worked as a used car salesman and Donna Jean worked in the gift shop at the Mirage Casino, a job she dearly loved. They were the parents of four children.

Since her death, Joe has remarried and lives in Shreveport, LA.
