A trio composed of Mrs. Troy Toland, Mrs. Harold Case and Mrs. Harvey Chesmore sang "When I've Gone the Last Mile of the Way", "Gathering Flowers" and "Where We'll Never Grow Old." Those serving as casket-bearers for Mr. Blackburn's service included Jonnie Case, Harold Case, Tommy Hood, Ray Courtney, Ray Howard and Henry Huckabay. Interment and final rites were conducted in the Parkland Cemetery under the direction of the Fairley Funeral Home. They moved to Cushing in 1914 where Mr. Blackburn was associated with a Cushing refinery until 1929 when he established his own business. He retired in the late 1950's and Mr. and Mrs. Blackburn have continued to make their home at 1503 East Maple in Cushing. He had been a member of the Church of the First Born for over sixty years and he and his wife would have celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary in October, 1973.
