Marilyn "Joyce" Webster was the daughter of Urall "Dale" Webster and Sarah "Lucille" Miller.
Joyce's brothers were Eural "Gene" Webster and Paul Duane "Butch" Webster and Buddy Richard Webster, who died a toddler. Though Joyce was born (and died) in Denver, she spent most of her life in the area of Macomb, Illinois, where she was educated.
Joyce married Robert Waddell, Lawson Shryack and Wayne Hawley and died a widow. Her family brought her body back from Denver and buried her under her maiden name in the area in which she was raised. Children are Jody (Glynn Patrick), Kurt Allen Shryack, Robert Waddell/Hawley. She raised a stepdaughter, Melanie Ann Danner (nee Shryack). Grandchildren are Philip Patrick, Summer Erin Glynn Cassidy and Brook Robin Glynn. Grandson Daniel-Paul is deceased. Great-grandchildren are Patrick Daniel Cassidy, Nathanial Gary Patrick and Natalie Patrick, and Alexander Glynn Cajucom, born in that order.
Joyce began with nothing, an unmarried teenage mother. She worked, built a restaurant (Joyce's Burger Inn) and then a Dog-N-Suds drive-in restaurant in the early 1970s. She worked at Western Illinois University as a secretary before moving to Denver, Colorado after divorcing Lawson Shryack. She was a 1952 graduate of Macomb High School, and with that education, became the administrator of the clerical unit for Denver Department of Human Services. She was an administrator at Bel Ray animal hospital before taking the job in Human Services. She worked very hard all of her life. In Denver, Joyce partnered with her adult children and husband in a business called "Bub's Pub", a popular nightclub lounge.
Joyce developed non-Hodkins lymphoma cancer; nine months after diagnosis and treatment, she lost her fight at the age of 66. The day before, her first great-grandchild, Patrick Cassidy, was born.
Joyce was a girlie-girl who loved having her hair done and nails manicured. She was a skilled seamstress and she was reliable -- always given responsibility and usually oversight of others in her jobs. She loved family and cooking large meals and holiday celebrations. She enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and really loved spontaneous trips to Vegas or the mountains. Her favorite game was Yahtzee and her favorite drink was scotch. She loved the Denver Broncos and cooked large meals for fire departments during the holidays and donated everything for that meal, as well as her time. She cared deeply about her co-workers and trying to improve the lives of those who reported to her.
