Miss Bridgie McGoran taught for over 40 years in Terre Haute's city schools and was a member of the 3rd Order of St Francis at St Benedict's church. She taught at Rea School and McLean Junior High School most of her active career. Bridgie was the sister of Jennie McGoran Wilton, and Mary McGoran Hill of Terre Haute and the late James Joseph McGoran. Her nieces were Rose Wilton Van Cleave and Mae Wilton Murphy.
