The California Voter Registers 1866-1898 list John Blasauf on line 173 in the year 1867. He was 50 years old at the time, born in Switzerland, and was a brewer in Nevada City.
The IRS Tax Assessment records of 1862-1918, in the year of 1863 listed John Blausauf. He was taxed for 10 1/2 barrels of lager beer at the rate of 1.00 per barrel, owing $10.50 in taxes.
